Sisters of the Word offers you protected, luxurious space to be with your creative writing in communion with Women and Earth. Receive guided support through Sacred Writing & Embodiment Circles plus Ceremony designed to open, strengthen, and honor your Channel.
Release & Hydration.
Sisters of the Word invites you to soften through ancient song, shedding, and deep release with sisters amongst the Fire and Rising Steam. Hydrate your Channel through poetry, purification, and ripe fruit in communion with the Yuba River.
Solitude & Shared Nourishment.
Sisters of the Word honors the Artist’s essential balance between solitude and gathering, quietude and sharing. Enjoy that balance through quiet soaking time beneath the Autumn sky, with your notebook nearby and shared, locally-sourced meals full of prayers, shares, and storytelling.

Private Room or Yurt - $2,200
For those who prefer privacy and comfort with electricity, stay in a private room or private structure (yurt or cabin). Queen or Full-Sized Beds. First come first serve.

Shared Yurt OR Private Glamping - $1,750
For those who desire deeper connection with the Earth with provided structures, choose between a bunk in the Yurt or your own Private Bell Tent (air mattress & bedding provided). No electricity. Headlamps & good shoes needed.

BYOG Camping - $1,200
Our earthiest and most affordable option, bring your own camping gear and tent on among the trees, with open access to the luxury bathhouse, spa, and sauna to bring comfort to your stay.

Due to the fixed costs of an in-person gathering, we do not offer Scholarships. However, we have one barter opportunity available for someone who loves to cook who would like to offer support in the kitchen for meal prep.

Cancellations beforeJuly 1, 2025 will be fully refunded, minus online transaction processing fees.
Cancellations between July 1, 2025 and August 30, 2025 will be fully refunded, minus online transaction processing fees, only if we are able to fill your spot.
Cancellations after Sep 1, 2025, will not be refunded.

3 Serve-Yourself Homemade Meals will be provided daily. Vegetarian and gluten free options will be available.
You may bring your own food/snacks, but they cannot be stored in your private space. All food must be stored in the Shared Kitchen, located at the Spa.

Ideally, Fly into Sacramento (SMF) and take a 1 hour bus ride to Nevada City, CA and then a short Uber/Lyft to our sanctuary. OR Fly into San Francisco (SFO) and take a 4.5 hour bus ride to Nevada City, CA, followed by an Lyft/Uber.
You may coordinate Lyft/Uber rides with other women to and from the Retreat, if desired.

Please plan your travel to arrive Wednesday, September 24 between 3 and 5pm. Our first gathering will be at 5:30pm. Please plan to leave Sunday, September 28 between 12 and 2pm.
There are buses to and from airports, and you may arrange with other women to share Ubers/Lyfts before the event.
